Cryptocoryne wendtii ‘Gecko’ is a striking variety of Crypt wendtii known for its unique, mottled leaves marked with green and bronze patterns that resemble gecko skin. Like other crypts, it grows in a rosette form and makes an excellent midground or foreground accent in aquascapes. It thrives in low to moderate light and adapts well to both low-tech and CO₂-enriched setups. Though it may experience “crypt melt” when newly introduced, it reliably regrows from its roots. Hardy, slow-growing, and fish- and shrimp-safe, ‘Gecko’ adds a bold, natural look to freshwater aquariums.
